Excited to go to TI - but I want to visit as a viewer and not work the event

In October this year will be my first international trip. I had not expected my first international trip to be to an esports event, I was more interested in tourism and sightseeing - mostly in Europe. But you take what life gives you and attending TI is definitely one of my wishes in life.

TI11 is taking place in Singapore and it is probably the closest that a TI will take place near me. It is unfortunate that due to my accident, I won’t be able to enjoy TI to its fullest. The plan is to go as a media representative, which means I will have to spend considerable time getting interviews and photos.

However, as my time in esports comes to a close, I might as well go it alone, trying to get maximum enjoyment off the TI visit. I will probably get my brother, Quincy, along with me in case I need any kind of help.

Singapore is a fun city - its weather looks eerily similar to Mumbai but the population density will be much lower and that makes the city thousand times more enjoyable.

Going to TI has been one of my dreams just to enjoy esports along with thousands of others who cheer at every play, understand the jokes that others might call cringe, and are well-versed in one of the best esports titles out there.

When is The International 2022?

TI11 or The International 2022 takes place from October 15-30, 2022. This year’s TI is stretched out long and will also feature quite a few days where there are no games and matches.

Where will The International take place?

The tournament will take place at the Suntec Singapore & Singapore Indoor Stadium. The venue is centrally located in Singapore and it is easily accessible from almost any area of the city-state. It has a 12,000 capacity and was first opened to the public in 1989. Owned by the Government of Singapore this will be the first time that SEA will host TI.

I’m still waiting to get my documents in order - mainly my ID proof and Passport which will then enable me to get my Visa and more. Hopefully, I can get it all done in order, not sure if my disability will play a Major role in my visa and other situations.

I know some of my colleagues have already booked tickets to Singapore, so the pressure is on me to ensure I do everything correctly. Going to TI will be a tick off my checklist. The checklist obviously has had to change due to the handicap, and I can no longer go to certain locations I wished to go earlier.

Let’s see where life takes me but I really want to go to TI (and not as a media representative)
